Our Policies

Fees and Refunds

  • Trip insurance is highly recommended in case you are unable to attend the retreat.

  • In the unlikely event, a retreat leader is unable to attend, the event may be led by Jennifer or another suitable leader.

  • Once your application is approved, a signed waiver and 50% deposit are due within one week.  This deposit is non-refundable but can be transferred if cancellation is 90 days before the retreat start.

  • The final 50% retreat fee is due 90 days before the retreat.

  • Nighttime activities are optional and cost additional money, depending on the activity (for example, if we go to a restaurant for dinner, you will be responsible for the price of any food you select and your tip).

COVID Policy

  • Participants should self-test for COVID on the morning of the retreat.

  • All participants must be fully vaccinated.

  • If you need to cancel due to COVID, within 90 days of the retreat, we cannot provide a refund.  We recommend travel insurance that covers COVID.

Transportation and Accommodations

  • You are responsible for transportation to and from The Smiley.

  • Accommodations are not provided at The Smiley.  We have recommendations for lodging here.

The Smiley Manse Property

  • The majority of the retreat will be spent outdoors or in the barn’s Art Studio

  • The Manse is not currently ADA compliant, though we hope to be in future years.  If you have special needs, please let us know and we will try to accommodate you.

Other Policies

  • There will be a light breakfast served in the barn studio kitchen and full lunch served on full retreat days. There will be dinner served on various nights, depending on the duration of your retreat.

  • By registering, all participants agree for The Smiley Manse to use their likenesses and their art in photos and videos for promotion.
