Cozy Painting with Dylan M
October 9-13, 2024

Pack your warmest layers and tuck into the rustic barn with illustrator and educator Dylan M, while we paint the coziest of fall motifs; luxuriously detailed quilts, folksy-decorated mugs, and plenty of colorful foliage.

This retreat is a getaway from the rush of cars on the highway and dimmed city stars right into the warmth of a small circle, painting together and enjoying each other's company. Here we are unconcerned with our day jobs, and instead embroiled with mixing velvety gouache and layering it into fab little illustrations of mittens, and mushrooms, and bundles of herbs. While learning about each other and making new memories, we will also improve our brush handling, color mixing, and shape building.

This retreat is open to all levels of creative people, whether it's been a long time since you've created, or whether you paint every single day. There will be community supplies for you to use, though you are encouraged to bring any of your favorite tools and materials to share and show off to the group (we all just love art supplies). The work done during the retreat will be demonstration-led, with plenty of extra time for free painting and hanging out.

Fee: $1750

Dylan Mierzwinski (“M” for short) is an illustrator and painter living in the Valley of the Sun, Phoenix, Arizona. A top teacher on Skillshare, Dylan is known for her warmth, ability to communicate difficult ideas clearly, and bold and retro botanical illustrations. As a self-taught artist, Dylan has enthusiastically grown into her position in the art world as a creative cheerleader, sharer of helpful keyboard shortcuts, and combiner of unexpected colors. She enjoys waving at dogs, quoting Michael Scott, and encouraging people to talk about their feelings (not a joke).
